Osteoarthritis (calcification)
Osteoarthritis (calcification) is an progressive accumulation and ageing disease, manifested by joint pain, restriction of movement. It emerges as one of the most important public health problems of today. It is influenced by many factors that exist in our daily life and can result in many different ways. In the treatment, increasing the quality of life, protecting and improving joint functions and preventing injuries are the first priority by reducing the pain and other complaints of patients.
Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a progressive resorption of bone tissue in our body associated with a loss of calcium in it, caused by many causes, such as menopause, thyroid disease, immobility, some medications and alcohol consumption. The disease is manifested by pain in the bones and easily formed fractures. During its diagnosis, an examination is carried out – blood and urine tests, radiography and bone densitometry (bone measurement). The treatment is aimed at preventing fractures, protecting and increasing bone density, by regulating nutrition and proper exercise program. Pain and functional disorders are corrected with the help of medical and physiotherapeutic methods.
Herniated discs of the neck and lower back
Neck and lumbar herniated discs occur with the unconscious and difficult use of the neck and waist region of the structures we call discs, heavy lifting, sudden and reverse movements, and shape and displacement as a result of traumas. Treatment includes rest, drug therapy, patient education, physical therapy and rehabilitation methods, in later periods surgical treatment is applied.
Orthopedic rehabilitation
Our physical medicine and rehabilitation department works in collaboration with the orthopedics department of our hospital.
Today, this is a generally accepted and recommended approach in all medical circles, in which patients require rehabilitation to prepare muscles and joints before orthopedic surgical interventions, as well as to accelerate and develop recovery after surgery. Our hospital also provides services for knee and hip joint arthroplasty, ligament and meniscus repair, treatment of fractures, injuries and the provision of necessary rehabilitation services for all patients in the orthopedics department who receive outpatient or inpatient treatment.
Neurological Rehabilitation
Our Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department works in cooperation with the Neurology and Neurosurgery Departments of our hospital. Patients are evaluated in our outpatient clinic before and after any neurological surgery, and inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation programs are implemented. In addition, stroke treatment or outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation can be applied to MS and other patient groups, who are examined in our Neurology Department.
